We can’t do this without you! The Andrew County Museum depends on the help and support of volunteers to preserve our local history. It is our goal to create a meaningful and interesting volunteer experience, while you learn new skills and explore the history of Andrew County. To volunteer, please contact the Museum at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (816) 324-4720.
Open Volunteer Opportunities include:
Do you enjoy working with people, and have good interpersonal communication skills? Visitor Services has the unique privilege of creating a positive guest experience for everyone who arrives at the Museum, browses the gift shop, and explores the exhibitions.
Do you like sharing facts, stories, or lessons with other people? The Education Committee meets several times a year to develop age-appropriate programs for the Museum. As a volunteer, you can assist in on-site and off-site programming at schools, senior centers, and various local club meetings.
Are you interested in learning about, researching, or sharing family histories? Genealogy volunteers are needed to help maintain the Museum’s archives, research family histories, index records, update our current holdings and work on other projects.
Have you always wondered how museums care for their objects? Volunteers working with the Museum’s collections will assist the Curator in preserving the 3D history of Andrew County. We need help on projects and everyday operations, such as inventorying and cataloging our collections, taking photographs of objects, cleaning and housing objects, identifying people in photographs, and assisting in installations of new exhibitions.
We’d like to tell you more about our fun-loving, dedicated team, and share opportunities to get involved. Please contact us.
