  • A Rural Way of Life

The Museum’s new 4,000 square foot permanent exhibit, Rural Way of Life, focuses on the people and places of Andrew county from 1841-2001 – its families, farms, towns, social life, and community spirit – from agriculture and businesses, to entertainment and industry throughout Andrew County.

A Rural Way of Life opened in October 2009 and has earned Andrew County Museum a Governor’s Humanities Award for Exemplary Community Achievement. After a visit to Andrew County Museum Geoff Giglierano, executive director of the Missouri Humanities Council, said “Simply put, I was blown away by what they have accomplished.” With interactive components, videos, and plenty of familiar faces from the history of Andrew County, the exhibit has been described as “interesting and exciting!” and “modern and fresh” by Savannah High School students.
